Frank Altenburg has put together a fantastic slide set showing how to install Connections. It's some 430 pages.. that too many.
A customer can build a Domino server from scratch in about 25 button presses ... 15 minutes tops.
Without people like Frank, us mere mortals are going to struggle to convince people this is the way of the future.

It is quite sad. I used to be able to install a Sametime server beginning to end in about 45 mins. Now you're looking at multiple days.
I don't see IBM changing though, so I have given up complaining about the install, although my challenge still stands, I would like to see an IBM Product Manager install Sametime beginning to end, just using IBM documentation and not Franks' zero to hero slides.
I think it's a sad reflection of IBM documentation, when more people refer to Frank's slides, which can lead to other issues down the road.
Hi Carl, The install documentation is just like the rest of the process - disconnected. That plus the fact that there are no recent books on the software makes it very tough.
This needs to change, or people will look elsewhere.
Amen! Terrible install process, Sametime is the same way. And don't get me started on all the patches, hard to know what files are needed where.
