If there is a reason that you can't upgrade a users mail design to 8.5.3 (and you are using an 8.5.3 server), you can still get the snazzy 8.5.3 iNotes look by simply removing FORMS8.NSF from the server.
I never knew that.. It appears to work... Nice.
