Lotus Protector - it just works !!!

Recently I got absolutely sick of SPAM entering our organisation and decided to swap out our existing solution for Lotus Protector. To my absolute delight it was so simple. We just downloaded the VM, placed it on our ESX server, performed a quick configuration, redirected mail to the VM and bingo, we were done.

It has been working incredibly well and I'll be recommending it to anyone who is willing to listen.

Good job IBM.

ESXi is free from VMWare. You can download it from their site.

The Lotus Protector for Mail Security code is available from PartnerWorld's Software Access Catalog (SAC) -- search for C1N22ML. This build includes a 60 day trial license so you can demo it in production for a customer. It's also the build partners can use for protecting their own e-mail under the "Run Your Business" program.

You can run it on any supported VMware platform including the free ESXi version.

Thanks for the shout-out Adam. As you point out, this is designed to "just work" at 99%+ efficacy. Also check out the content filtering (policy engine) which is very effective at blocking keywords or entire content categories -- both incoming or outgoing.

I would like to use it internally ( we are a small Lotus BP ) - does it really require 512mb ram and 30gb of memory for four people ?

If you have less ram does it just go slower or does it fail ?
