To enable Preemptive AI on the HCL Notes side, we need to customize the mail template. This is essential—there’s no other way to achieve the functionality we’re aiming for.
Unfortunately, we can’t distribute HCL’s current mail templates, as they haven’t been open-sourced yet. While there are rumors that this may change in the future, it’s not an option right now.
The last open-sourced mail template dates back to the IBM era. The good news: this version works well for demos and showcases what’s possible. The not-so-good news: it’s not suitable for production environments.
We’ve explored many alternatives, but our goal is to keep things as straightforward as possible. Here’s how we’re handling it:
When Preemptive AI is released, it will include an open-sourced (IBM-era) mail template. This older template is for demonstration purposes only, giving you a clear idea of the solution’s capabilities.
For a production-ready release, please:
- create a ticket at preemptive.freshdesk.com
- Attach the HCL mail template that matches your version to the ticket.
This allows us to verify your version, so we can then send you the same release back with Preemptive AI modifications.
It’s not a perfect solution, but we’re making the best of the situation until HCL open-sources their templates!
P.S. We plan to support customizations for Notes 12.0.2, 14.0, and 14.5.
Let us know if you have any questions.
