NZ Department of Internal Affairs is moving to Exchange

I got excited that an email archiving tender came out from the NZ Department of Internal Affairs.

I understood them to be a Domino shop and our archiving product tends to do well in these situations, but there it was.. "The Department is in the process of migrating email and calendar functionality from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Outlook/Exchange."

Unfortunately I have seen this enough over the last two years to believe it is now a trend - it is a bit of a bugger really.

Do Domino policies work in the real world ?

We have been putting Domino policies through a series of tests over the last two weeks. The results are interesting. Most of the time they work, but when they kick into action is inconsistent and some settings just never come down, eg. mark messages read in preview.

It got me wondering if policies are widely used and how other people have found them. Let me know...
